Retired from the construction industry. Still riding. Have stepped up the traveling with my lovely wife.

Received my Technician license in February, my General in March and my Extra in August of 2024. Just starting on my amateur radio journey.

I started with a QT60 10 meter SSB radio using 10 meter hamsticks in vertical and dipole configurations and a BTECH UV-5X3 tri-band radio with a Nagoya NA-320A antenna.

To reward myself for passing my general exam I bought a YAESU FT-710 AESS. Recently added a new antenna. A 132′ EFHW in an inverted “V” roughly 45 feet in the center. Seems to be working well!

My station is growing! My workhorse Ameritron ALS-500M has been replaced by a Mercury IIIs. Still running the LDG AT-1000 Pro II tuner.

Newest addition to the 2 meter side is the Yaesu FTM 500D and a Diamond X-30 Dual band antenna.

Passed my Extra exam on 8/10/2024!

New! Station update. Purchased a Yaesu FTdx10. Moved the FT-710 to the 5th Wheel.

Very excited to bring back online this Vintage Heathkit Station! It was built and put on the air in 1970. It was subsequently put in storage for about 25 years. I purchased from the son-in-law of Mr. James Poe the original owner. Im am only the second owner/operator of this wonderful equipment.

Heathkit SB-102 transceiver, SB-600/SB-23A speaker/power supply combination, HPD-21A(EV-638) microphone, SB-220 linear amplifier, and HM-102 SWR/power meter.

New addition to the Vintage Heathkit Station! SA-2060 tuner circa 1981. Now all HK!
