Don

Greetings everyone! I really enjoy being a ham, the world’s greatest hobby. I got licensed in 1984 first as KC4KGD. When I upgraded to General Class I became N4XRP. I love my “N” call because there aren’t many around.

I’m mostly active on 40 Meters. I’ve never been a DX’er or a contester. I’m just a rag chewer. I do run the SouthCars Net (7.251) from 9-10 am every Wednesday. I also run the SouthCars Net every Monday from 9-10 and every Wednesday from 9-10. If you’ve never checked in on SouthCars I advise you to give it a try. Lots of great hams. I also check in on the Florida net on 3.950 at 7:30 pm eastern time. Great bunch of hams there as well.

My rigs are my ICOM 7300 (my main rig), plus I have a TENTEC Jupiter I got back in 2005. It’s still a good ol’ rig. My other HF rig is my Kenwood TS-940S. It too is an older rig but it works really well. My amp is a Ten-Tec Centurion along with an AL-811H.

As far as antennas go, I have a 40 meter resonant dipole that I really like. I also have an off center fed dipole that I use on 75-80 meters. Both antennas up about 30 feet.

i’m glad you checked out my QRZ page. Take care and best of 73! You can usually find me on 7.191 or 7.230.
